6 Tips For Washing Your Clothes At The Laundromat

Tips-for-Washing

Are you are someone from the areas of N. Ft. Myers, Fort Myers, or Cape Coral looking to go to a laundromat, but need some tips before you go? Here are six tips for washing your clothes at the laundromat that will help you and make your experience at a laundromat not only straightforward but enjoyable too.

1. Sorting

The number one thing you can do to make washing your clothes at the laundromat easier is to sort your clothes such as separating darks from whites before you leave your home. This tip will not only make washing your clothes easier, but it will make it go faster too.

2. Treat Stains Before Going

It is also important to put any pre-treatments for stains on your clothes at home before you go to the laundromat. It will help you use these products to their full effectiveness and cut down on the time you have to spend at the laundromat itself. Doing this will also cut down on the amount of stuff you have to bring with you, especially if you not only are bringing a lot of laundry but also bringing your own detergent and dryer sheets.

3. Go at a time other people wouldn’t think of

When going to the laundromat it helps to be able to use multiple washers and dryers at a time as it will allow for your laundry to be done sooner. I would not advise you to go to the laundromat at 1 or 2 in the morning, but going in the middle of the day if you can, is a great option as many people are either at work or running around doing other things.

4. Machine Smelling

Now this tip might sound a little weird, but it will save your clothes from coming out of the washer speckled with bleach. From time to time, someone before you will use too much bleach on their clothes and it could stay behind in the washer, which will bleach any dark clothes you have. So if you smell bleach in the washer only put your white clothes in that washer.

5. Garbage bags and laundry baskets

It is okay to bring your clothes into the laundromat in a laundry basket, but it is also a good idea to bring some garbage bags with you in case it is raining when you leave the laundromat. This way your freshly dried laundry won’t get soaked in rain and cause you to have wasted your money on drying your clothes for no reason.

6. Machine Settings

Make sure to check all the settings on the washing machines or dryers before you stick your clothes in. There is a possibility that the washing machine could be in a different setting than the one you want. An example of this is the washer being on the hot water setting when you actually want it to be in the cold or warm water setting. This simple tip can save your clothes from possibly shrinking.

Lastly, remember to check for servicers such as a wash/dry/fold laundry service to save you even more time!
